With coronavirus outbreak we will be offering a drop off, mail in, fax or email option, if you are concerned about going out. You can send us your documents and we will be able to prepare your return and send it to you without any face to face interaction.
If you prefer we also offer appointments. We have plexiglass barriers at each desk, sanitize surfaces throughout the day and wear masks in the office. All we ask is that you wear a mask during your appointment.

In 1994, Brian R. Kooyman started KOOYMAN TAX SERVICE in Marengo, IA. His business goal was to offer customers an alternative service to the high priced national firms.
As business grew in the Marengo office, a friend and Brian’s father helped him open an Iowa City office in 2000. Six years later the Iowa City office relocated to its current home in North Liberty. True to Brian’s original business goal, KOOYMAN TAX SERVICE fees are often up to 30 percent less than larger firm’s regular prices. He is able to do this without sacrificing quality of service by avoiding the franchise fees and overhead expenses associated with operating a national firm.
All of KOOYMAN TAX SERVICE preparers have at least 5 years of experience with many of them approaching 10 years or more. Brian is proud to say his service hires local professionals from other professions to assist work during the busy tax season, to include a manufacturing firm accountant, a teacher, a manager, a paralegal and a bank officer. Brian has prepared his own taxes since high school and professionally since 1994.
Brian and Kathy are the parents of three young adult children, Mike, Kristina, and Austin; and the proud grandparents of MaKenzie, Carter, and Drake.
